Account Manager – British Electrical Supplier in the Energy Sector

Job Purpose Summary: The Account Manager will work to improve the company’s market position and achieve financial growth. The Account Manager will actively support the team internally while personally defining long-term company strategic goals, build key manufacturer & customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

General

New Business Development

  1. Prospect for new clients and turn this into increased business with a robust pipeline of opportunities.
  2. Focus strategically to ensure optimisation of multiple business locations in the areas the company is focused in
  3. Identify potential clients and the decision makers within the client company in both supply chain and engineering
  4. Work with the team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns and objectives
  5. Participate in pricing the product / solution or service
  6. Handle objections by clarifying, emphasising agreements and working through differences to a positive solution. Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately
  7. Present positive image to clients
  8. Consult with President on business trends with a view to developing new services, products and distribution channels
  9. Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling point and differentiators
  10. Collaborate with teams to develop proposals/ tenders and cost models that address the client’s needs, concerns and objectives.
  11. Work closely with the manufacturers to arrange joint visits
  12. Maintain CRM system to ensure all progress is tracked

Client Retention

  1. Promote new products and services to enhance existing relationships, via means of manufacturer joint visits and own personal knowledge
  2. Work with internal team to meet customer needs
  3. Support team with joint visits as and when required
  4. Maintain CRM system to ensure all progress is tracked
  5. Nurture and develop relations to ensure growth
